My Journey Begins!

This has been a long time goal of mine – to write a blog.  So 2019 is my year!!

I am not a perfect person with a perfect plan.  So many days I just struggle to make it.  But through each season of my life, God has been faithful.  Every season of life when my strength and faith were challenged, when I did not think I could handle any more, God made a way.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven”

               -Ecclesiastes 3:1

My hearts desire is to share what I have learned and experienced so others can be encouraged. We are all better when we are in this together!

ABOUT ME:     I am a child of God, pastor’s wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend.  I love cooking, hockey, hanging out with my family, traveling, coffee, hiking, yoga and music!

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

  2. Love this!

2019 I want to focus on:

    1) spiritual health
    “grow my faith”:
Reading the bible in a year’s time is a great goal and one that I would love to do and need to do! It will help me reset and stay committed to my relationship with God.

    2) mental health “simplify/consolidate”:
With less to focus on i can maximize what i do focus on! This includes restricting extra-curricular activites for my kids and always focusing on keeping a healthy and happy (not exhausting) schedule for all. After having baby #4 I have cut back work hours to have more time for family needs and each kid will only be involved in 2 or 3 activities a week.

    3) physical health
“Eating better and not being wasteful”:
This year I am going to work on planning meals out and preparing enough food to meet our families needs. Often we are busy running from one thing to the next and we end up eating out because its easier and convenient. In the end we are spending more money and not eating well, then we come home and throw out perfectly good food that went bad because we didn’t eat it in time.

2019- cheers to cutting back, planning right and reading!

    1. I love all of these – such a great perspective to begin the year! I have always struggled with #3 as well. I have great intentions most times of eating at home and always feel bad throwing food away. Thank you for sharing theses, and CHEERS!! ❤

  3. I am so encouraged by your blog today. I normally do not make New Year’s resolutions because they tend to go by the wayside. I love the idea of writing down the goals and checking back on them at the end of the month. Do overs and Grace is what the Christian life is all about. Having been a Christian for nearly 40 years and a pastor’s daughter, I had never read through the bible until this past year. God has blown me away with His love and deepened my spiritual roots more than I could have ever dreamed possible. Each day I can’t wait to dive in and find the new treasures that He has for me.
I look forward to what 2019 has in store, and I know that God will use your blog to touch the hearts of many women!

    1. Lisa,
Thank you for the encouraging words. I have been a Christian for a long time as well, and last year was the first time I completed my goal of reading the entire bible through. I had made many attempts over the years, but never successfully completed it until last year. Let’s CRUSH 2019!!! ❤
